the heart of the ancient city, at the north of Acropolis and east of the Ancient Agora. The Roman Agora, or Agora of Caesar and Augustus, built in an area in the heart of the city, which already had a commercial character, was centre of organised commercial activity in Athens during Roman times. Trade of oil took also place inside the Roman Agora, as testified by an inscription of Hadrian\\'s era, preserved in situ. Much later, during the Ottoman period, the Roman Agora is known to be called \u201cStaropazaro\u201d, being a wheat marketing space. The archaeological site includes also, among other monuments dating to the 1st c. AD (Agoranomeion, Vespasianae), to the 7th and to the 17th century (Early Byzantine basilica and Fethiye mosque adequately), the Horologion of Andronikos of Kyrrhos\u00a0(end of 2nd century BC), an impressive architectural creation of the late Hellenistic period, known also as the \u2018Tower of the Winds\u2019 or \u2018Aerides\u2019 (the blowing winds), which has \u2018housed\u2019 some of the most important achievements of astronomy, physics and engineering of the time, in particular a unique mechanism of \u2018timepiece\u2019 or \u2018planetarium\u2019, of a manufacturing philosophy comparable to that of the famous Antikythera mechanism. Hadrian\u2019s Library, an important part of the extensive building programme of the philhellene emperor Hadrian, was built in 132 AD, in order to accommodate the city\\'s largest library and, probably, the State Archives; but also the worship of the emperor. A building of roman inspiration and luxurious construction, with colourful marbles in both its facade and interior, it was the largest spiritual and cultural centre of the city during imperial times. In the late 3rd century AD, its external enclosure was incorporated in the fortifications built for the future protection of the city from barbaric invasions. In the early 5th century AD, a building \u00a0was constructed in the inner courtyard, the so-called Tetraconch. Possibly it is the first church built within the ancient city walls, replaced in the same position by two Byzantine churches dating to the 7th and 11th century. During the Ottoman period, Hadrian\u2019s Library and its surrounding area constitutes the administrative and commercial heart of the city, and houses it\u2019s bazaar and the Governor\u2019s official offices and residence (Voevodaliki). After the liberation of the city, the building was converted into infantry and cavalry barracks (1835), which were gradually demolished over the last century, in order to unearth the magnificent Roman building.{:}{:fr} Les sites arch\u00e9ologiques de l\u2019Agora romaine et de la biblioth\u00e8que d\u2019Hadrien occupent une superficie totale de 28.000 m\u00b2 et ils comprennent deux des monuments les plus importants de l\u2019Ath\u00e8nes romaine, \u00e9rig\u00e9s respectivement en 10 av. L\u2019agora romaine (ou Agora de C\u00e9sar et d\u2019Auguste) fut construite sur un site ayant d\u00e9j\u00e0 un caract\u00e8re commercial. Dans l\u2019Agora romaine s\u2019effectuait le commerce de biens, comme celui de l\u2019huile, mentionn\u00e9 sur une inscription de l\u2019\u00e9poque d\u2019Hadrien, conserv\u00e9e encore sur place (in situ). Nous savons que beaucoup plus tard, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque ottomane, elle \u00e9tait appel\u00e9e \\\"Staropazaro\\\" (le bazar du bl\u00e9), puisque ce fut le lieu de vente du bl\u00e9. Parmi les monuments construits sur le site arch\u00e9ologique, datant du Ier s. ap. J. \u2013C. A la fin du IIIe s. ap. J.-C., l\u2019enceinte ext\u00e9rieure du monument fut int\u00e9gr\u00e9e dans la fortification de la cit\u00e9, \u00e9rig\u00e9e pour la protection de la ville lors des invasions barbares. Chr. und 132 n.Chr. jeweils im Herzen der alten Stadt, n\u00f6rdlich der Akropolis und \u00f6stlich der antiken Agora errichtet wurden. Die R\u00f6mische Agora oder Agora von Caesar und Augustus, errichtet in einer Gegend, die bereits einen kommerziellen Charakter hatte, stellte das Zentrum der organisierten gewerblichen T\u00e4tigkeit in Athen der r\u00f6mischen Jahre dar, seitdem die antike Agora nicht mehr als solches diente. In der r\u00f6mischen Agora wurde auch der Oliven\u00f6lhandel ausge\u00fcbt, wie durch die Inschrift aus der Hadrians\u00e4ra belegt wird, die in der gleichen Stelle erhalten bleibt, w\u00e4hrend uns bekannt ist dass viel sp\u00e4ter, in der Osmanischen Zeit, sie als \u00abWeizenmarkt\u00bb bezeichnet wurde, da sie den Ort darstellte wo der Weizenhandel stattfand. Ferner befindet sich innerhalb der arch\u00e4ologischen St\u00e4tte, unter anderen Denkm\u00e4lern, die bis zur Osmanischen Zeit datiert werden, das \u00abHorologion des Andronikos von Kyrristos\u00bb (2\u03bf H\u00e4lfte des 2. Jh. v.Chr. \u2013 Mitte des 1. Jh. v.Chr.), eine beindruckende architektonische Schaffung der sp\u00e4ten hellenistischen Zeit, bekannt auch als der Turm der Winde, wo einige der wichtigsten, bis dahin, Errungenschaften der Astronomie, Physik und Technik, und besonders ein einzigartiges Uhrwerk oder Planetarium entsprechender Fertigungsphilosophie mit der des ber\u00fchmten Mechanismus von Antikythera, \\\"untergebracht \\\" waren. Die Hadriansbibliothek, ein wesentlicher Teil des umfangreichen Bauprogramms vom Philhellenen Kaiser Hadrian, wurde 132 n.Chr. errichtet, in kleiner Entfernung n\u00f6rdlich der r\u00f6mischen Agora, um die gr\u00f6\u00dfere Stadtbibliothek unterzubringen und, m\u00f6glicherweise, die staatlichen Archive aber auch die Anbetung des Kaisers. Es war ein Geb\u00e4ude r\u00f6mischer Inspiration und luxuri\u00f6ser Bauweise, mit buntem Marmor sowohl vorne als auch im Inneren, welches das gr\u00f6\u00dfte geistige und kulturelle Zentrum der Stadt w\u00e4hrend der Kaiserzeit darstellte. Am Ende des 3. Jahrhunderts n.Chr., wurde die Aussenmauer in der Befestigung integriert, welche zum k\u00fcnftigen Schutz der Stadt von barbarischen Invasionen errichtet wurde, w\u00e4hrend Beginn des 5. Jahrhunderts n.Chr., im Innenhof, ein Geb\u00e4ude von gro\u00dfer Bedeutung f\u00fcr die kirchliche Architektur der fr\u00fchchristlichen Zeit, der sogenannte Tetrakonchos Tempel, errichtet wurde, vielleicht die erste Kirche, die innerhalb der Mauern der alten Stadt gebaut wurde.{:}{:it} L\\'Agor\u00e0 Romana o Agor\u00e0 di Cesare e di Augusto, costruita nel 10 a.C. in un\\'area centrale, gi\u00e0 utilizzata come area di mercato, fu il centro di attivit\u00e0 commerciali organizzate di Atene romana, dal momento che l\\'Agor\u00e0 antica aveva cessato di ospitare le funzioni corrispondenti. All\\'interno dell\u2019Agor\u00e0 Romana si praticava sicuramente anche il commercio dell\\'olio, come ci informa un\\'iscrizione del tempo di Adriano, ancora in situ, mentre sappiamo che molto pi\u00f9 tardi, nel periodo ottomano, la stessa area veniva chiamata \\\"Staropazaro\\\", poich\u00e9 fu utilizzata come luogo per il commercio del grano. In quest\u2019area archeologica, tuttavia, tra altri monumenti datati al I sec. d.C. (\u201cAgoranomeion\u201d, Latrinae), al VII e al XVII secolo (Basilica protobizantina e Moschea Fetiye) si annovera anche \\\"l\u2019Orologio di Andronikos di Kyrrhos\\\" (fine del II secolo a.C.), un\\'impressionante creazione architettonica del tardo periodo ellenistico, nota anche come la Torre dei Venti o Aerides che \u201cospit\u00f2\u201d alcune delle pi\u00f9 importanti conquiste nei campi dell\u2019astronomia, della fisica e dell\u2019ingegneria e in particolare un meccanismo unico di orologio o planetario ideato su principi costruttivi analoghi a quelli impiegati nel famoso meccanismo di Anticitera. La Biblioteca di Adriano, parte significativa del vasto programma edilizio di Adriano, fu costruita nel 132 d.C. dall\u2019imperatore filelleno, al fine di ospitare la pi\u00f9 grande biblioteca della citt\u00e0 e, probabilmente, gli Archivi di Stato, ma anche uno spazio per il culto imperiale. Edificio di ispirazione romana particolarmente lussuoso, per il quale furono utilizzati marmi policromi tanto per la decorazione della facciata, quanto per le superfici interne, costitu\u00ec il pi\u00f9 grande centro spirituale e culturale della citt\u00e0 in epoca romana imperiale. Alla fine del III secolo d.C. il recinto esterno \u00e8 stato incorporato nelle fortificazioni costruite per proteggere la citt\u00e0 dalle imminenti invasioni barbariche, mentre all\\'inizio del secolo V d.C. nel suo cortile interno fu realizzato un edificio di eccezionale importanza per l\\'architettura ecclesiastica paleocristiana, il cosiddetto Tetraconco. Si tratta probabilmente della prima chiesa eretta entro le mura della citt\u00e0 antica, alla quale si sovrapposero due chiese bizantine del VII e dell\u2019XI secolo. En el sitio arqueol\u00f3gico, entre otros monumentos que datan de la \u00e9poca del Imperio otomano, esta tambi\u00e9n el \\\" Horologi\u00f3n de Andronikos\\\" (2\u00aa mitad del siglo II a.C.-mediados del siglo I a.C.), una creaci\u00f3n arquitect\u00f3nica impresionante del per\u00edodo helen\u00edstico tard\u00edo, tambi\u00e9n conocida como la \\\"\u03a4orre de los vientos\\\", que \\\"ha hospedado\\\" algunos de los logros importantes, hasta entonces, de la Astronom\u00eda, f\u00edsica e ingenier\u00eda. Chr. und 132 n.Chr. jeweils im Herzen der alten Stadt, n\u00f6rdlich der Akropolis und \u00f6stlich der antiken Agora errichtet wurden.<br \/>\nDie R\u00f6mische Agora oder Agora von Caesar und Augustus, errichtet in einer Gegend, die bereits einen kommerziellen Charakter hatte, stellte das Zentrum der organisierten gewerblichen T\u00e4tigkeit in Athen der r\u00f6mischen Jahre dar, seitdem die antike Agora nicht mehr als solches diente. In der r\u00f6mischen Agora wurde auch der Oliven\u00f6lhandel ausge\u00fcbt, wie durch die Inschrift aus der Hadrians\u00e4ra belegt wird, die in der gleichen Stelle erhalten bleibt, w\u00e4hrend uns bekannt ist dass viel sp\u00e4ter, in der Osmanischen Zeit, sie als \u00abWeizenmarkt\u00bb bezeichnet wurde, da sie den Ort darstellte wo der Weizenhandel stattfand. Ferner befindet sich innerhalb der arch\u00e4ologischen St\u00e4tte, unter anderen Denkm\u00e4lern, die bis zur Osmanischen Zeit datiert werden, das \u00abHorologion des Andronikos von Kyrristos\u00bb (2\u03bf H\u00e4lfte des 2. Jh. v.Chr. \u2013 Mitte des 1. Jh. v.Chr.), eine beindruckende architektonische Schaffung der sp\u00e4ten hellenistischen Zeit, bekannt auch als der Turm der Winde, wo einige der wichtigsten, bis dahin, Errungenschaften der Astronomie, Physik und Technik, und besonders ein einzigartiges Uhrwerk oder Planetarium entsprechender Fertigungsphilosophie mit der des ber\u00fchmten Mechanismus von Antikythera, &#8222;untergebracht &#8220; waren.<br \/>\nDie Hadriansbibliothek, ein wesentlicher Teil des umfangreichen Bauprogramms vom Philhellenen Kaiser Hadrian, wurde 132 n.Chr. errichtet, in kleiner Entfernung n\u00f6rdlich der r\u00f6mischen Agora, um die gr\u00f6\u00dfere Stadtbibliothek unterzubringen und, m\u00f6glicherweise, die staatlichen Archive aber auch die Anbetung des Kaisers. Es war ein Geb\u00e4ude r\u00f6mischer Inspiration und luxuri\u00f6ser Bauweise, mit buntem Marmor sowohl vorne als auch im Inneren, welches das gr\u00f6\u00dfte geistige und kulturelle Zentrum der Stadt w\u00e4hrend der Kaiserzeit darstellte. Am Ende des 3. Jahrhunderts n.Chr., wurde die Aussenmauer in der Befestigung integriert, welche zum k\u00fcnftigen Schutz der Stadt von barbarischen Invasionen errichtet wurde, w\u00e4hrend Beginn des 5.
